Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Know the difference in the improvement of result physics learning student using cooperative learning model jigsaw type with STAD type cooperative learning model, and (2) to know the improvement motivation learning of student toward physics learning by using cooperative learning model jigsaw type and cooperative learning model STAD type on the subject of momentum, impulse, and collision. This research is a quantitative research with quasi experimental design method. The research design used with The Non-Equivalent, Pretest-Posttest Design is the type. Population in this research is all student of class X at SMA Negeri 1 Turi Sleman consist of X MIPA 1, X MIPA 2, X IPS 1, and X IPS 2. Samples of 2 classes that class X MIPA 1 by using cooperative learning model type jigsaw and class X MIPA 2 using STAD type cooperative learning model. Sampling through cluster sampling. Technique of date collecting using test and non test. The instruments used are prettest and posttest questions, and motivation questionnaires. Data analysis using non parametric statistics. The hypothesis was tested by using Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test. The magnitude of differences in physics learning outcomes is seen from the increase in the average results of pretesst and posttest. The results obtained that the results of the hypothesis test showed Ha accepted and H0 rejected, there is a difference in the increase of physics learning between Jigsaw model and STAD model. The result of the research are: (1) there is difference of the average increase of physics learning result between model Jigsaw with STAD model that is equal to 0,57. With the average increase of physics study result in jigsaw model 30,90 and STAD model 31,47. (2) there is difference of percentage increase of learning motivation physics that is equal to 1,36%. With the increase of physics learning motivation percentage in jigsaw model equal to 6,66% and on STAD model equal to 8,02%.
