Abstract

In the era of internet. People can’t be separated anymore with internet. Even interacting with others can be done easily with the internet. There are various sites on the internet. One of them is social networks. In social networks, people can connect with billion other users all around the world and can find friends to share their stories, photos, videos and much more. One of the most popular social network site in the world is facebook. Here in facebook, users can create a group of their own. In that group other users can join the group or add users who haven’t joined the group to signed in. The important value of group is that members can share messages and information directly to group and only members of that group can have access to that massages and information. In Yogyakarta there is a very renowned group called ICJ stand for Info Cegatan Jogja. In ICJ every members can share their everyday stories and social life. Therefore a lot of members ICJ are share their social problems. The reseacher wants to research the social problem messages in facebook group in ICJ on the period of 6 – 12 February 2018 using descriptive quantitative content analysis.The results reveals that there are eight out of nine social problem message such as crime, family disorganization, young generation problems, war, violation of society norms, population, environment, and bureaucracy problems. Messages about crime got the highest score, whereas poverty problems had none at all Keyword : social network, facebook , content analysis, social problems, internet groups
