Abstract

Someone who enters a new environment need to adjust to create harmony between the demands from within yourself with what is expected to the surrounding environment. Based on the results of the research, not all the students are able to adjust themselves well when is in the neighborhood of the islamic school, especially studens in the boarding school. Therefore need to be traced how the ability of students in acclimated in the environment as well as with dependencies the islamic school of the rights of the child. As well as the chief what can be offered to help students adjust. This research is a descriptive qualitative study using a case study approach against the informant of 8 in MI Nurul Ulum. Data collection is done by holding observation, interview and documentation. Informants in this study are some students class I and V, teachers and caretakers in MI Nurul Ulum, as well as some parents of students. The results of this research is; (1) the ability of self adjustment of students divided into two; able to adjust well and less able to adapt well, (2) Factors that affect less as students in adjusting among other factors psikogenik and sosiopsikogenik factors, (3) Strategies that are offered in this study for educators to help students adjust, among others; a) trying to be meaningful in providing social support to students, b) Increased social capabilities using instructional communication types, c) Cognitive moral improvement through discussion method using type of authoritative parenting.
