Abstract

This study involved 144 students, with details of 132 students as the subject of try out the scale of the asertivitas and 12 students as the subject of experimental design treatment .. Of the 12 students are divided into two groups of treatment or two groups. Group 1 consisted of 6 subjects for the empathy training group and group 2 consisting of 6 subjects for group counseling treatment group. The result of the research is the difference between pre test and post test score on both independent variables. The result of the analysis showed that there were significant differences between pre test and post test of independent variable "empathy training" (p = 0.027) and pre test and post test of free variable "counseling group" showed significant result (p = 0.028). And both treatments are equally influential to improve the bystander assertiveness, seen in Friedova 2-Ways Anova test is a non-parametric two-lane analytical technique of 0.025 which means p 0.05, significant. Thus it can be concluded that empathy training and group counseling are equally influential in improving the bystander's assertiveness of bullying behavior in MA X, Yogyakarta.
