Abstract

Background of evaluation research collection of general medical field by using conspectus method at UPT Library of Unsoed Purwokerto is the lack of description of the subject composition and the high collection of general medical fields. Problem formulation in this research how mapping collection of field of general medicine at UPT Library Unsoed Purwokerto? The discussion of this research is about evaluation of collection of general medical field by using conspectus method at UPT Library of Unsoed Purwokerto. The purpose of this research is to get the description of the book collection of general medicine in UPT Unsoed Purwokerto Library which suits the collection development process and to map the strengths and weaknesses of book collection in the field of general medicine. This research is done by using quantitative method with descriptive approach. Research data is textbook with subject of general medicine. The research data was collected by observation technique, documentation, collection evaluation questionnaire with standard of conspectus indicator and interview. While the population population and research sample is based on the Isaac and Michael table. While the data analysis techniques by collecting the results of conspectus sheet, tabulation and percentage of each subject distribution. The results showed that the level of depth collection of general medicine in UPT Unsoed Purwokerto Library is in the range of 1a to 3. Level 3 as the highest value of the collection value and the value of 1a as the lowest collection level. This means that the collections of general medicine in the UPT Unsoed Library have supported the general medical department. The evaluator's evaluation of the collection is influenced by the variations of available titles. Distribution of the highest subject is on the subject of disease of the class number 616.1- 616.9 number of 87 collection titles. Analysis of language coverage in general medicine illustrates that the collection for each class number is dominated by Indonesian (code Y). As for the chronological coverage of the field of general medicine is said to be quite relevant or in accordance with the needs of current information. Litterature material published last five years a total of 58 titles or 20% collection. Collections of general medicine dominated the year 2000-2009 as many as 118 titles collection with a percentage of 41% and collection with the year published <1990 as many as 55 titles reached 16%. This research provides suggestions for UPT Library of Unsoed to immediately draw up guidebook of collection development policy as a guide in developing library collections as well as establishing more intensive communication to the users Keywords: Collection Evaluation, Library, Conspectus Method [Indonesia] Latar belakang dari penelitian evaluasi koleksi bidang kedokteran umum dengan menggunakan metode conspectus di UPT Perpustakaan Unsoed Purwokerto adalah belum adanya gambaran komposisi subyek dan mahalnya koleksi bidang kedokteran umum. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini bagaimana pemetaan koleksi bidang kedokteran umum di UPT Perpustakaan Unsoed Purwokerto? Bahasan penelitian ini mengenai evaluasi koleksi bidang kedokteran umum dengan menggunakan metode conspectus di UPT Perpustakaan Unsoed Purwokerto. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran koleksi buku bidang kedokteran umum di UPT Perpustakaan Unsoed Purwokerto yang sesuai dengan proses pengembangan koleksi serta untuk memetakan kekuatan dan kelemahan koleksi buku dalam bidang kedokteran umum. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data penelitian adalah buku teks dengan subyek kedokteran umum. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi, dokumentasi, kuesioner evaluasi koleksi dengan standar indikator conspectus dan wawancara. Pengambilan populasi dan sampel penelitian berdasarkan pada tabel Isaac dan Michael. Sedangkan teknik analisis data dengan mengumpulkan hasil lembar conspectus, tabulasi dan persentase dari masing-masing distribusi subyek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kekuatan koleksi bidang kedokteran umum di UPT Perpustakaan Unsoed Purwokerto berada pada kisaran 1a sampai 3. Tingkat nilai 3 sebagai tingkat nilai koleksi tertinggi dan nilai 1a sebagai tingkat koleksi terendah. Hal ini berarti bahwa koleksi-koleksi bidang kedokeran umum di UPT Perpustakaan Unsoed sudah mendukung terhadap jurusan kedokteran umum. Penilaian yang dilakukan evaluator terhadap koleksi dipengaruhi oleh variasi judul-judul yang tersedia. Sebaran subyek yang paling tinggi berada pada subjek ilmu penyakit yaitu nomer kelas 616.1-616.9 sejumlah 87 judul koleksi. Analisis cakupan bahasa bidang kedokteran umum menggambarkan bahwa koleksi untuk tiap nomor kelas didominasi oleh bahasa Indonesia (kode Y). Sedangkan untuk cakupan kronologis bidang kedokteran umum dikatakan cukup relevan atau sesuai dengan kebutuhan informasi yang mutakhir. Bahan litteratur terbitan lima tahun terakhir sejumlah 58 judul koleksi atau 20%. Koleksi bidang kedokteran umum didominasi tahun terbit 2000-2009 sebanyak 118 judul koleksi dengan persentase 41% dan koleksi dengan tahun terbit <1990 sebanyak 55 judul mencapai 16%. Penelitian ini memberikan saran agar UPT Perpustakaan Unsoed untuk segera memyusun buku pedoman kebijakan pengembangan koleksi sebagai petunjuk dalam mengembangkan koleksi di perpustakaan serta menjalin komunikasi yang lebih intesif kepada para pemustaka.
