Abstract

Humic acid modified magnetite (FeThis study aims to develop a material from Sumatra peat soil for more effective adsorption applications and to study the interactions that occur during the adsorption process of blue indigosol O4B dye using Fe343O4-AH) were prepared by inverted coprecipitation method and used for adsorption blue indigosol O4B dye.O-AH and obtained the adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherms. Successfully of asamhumat modification in magnetite indicated by result of determining the functional group content of Fe34has decreased compared to the results of determining the functional group content of humic acid. The interaction of Fe34with optimumblueindigosol O4B dye at pH 5 and optimum time of 45 minutes followed the pseudo first order reaction kinetics according to Lagergren with the adsorption rate constant 0.0047. The adsorption isotherm model follows the Langmuir isotherm model with an adsorption capacity 1,234 mmol gFe34adsorbs 1,234 mmol blue indigosol O4B. O-AH O-AH -1 which means that every 1 gram of O-AH Fe34, adsorption, blue indigosol O4B
