Abstract

Conjoint analysis is a multivariate technique used to understand consumer preferences for a product or service. In this research will be discussed students preferences against purchase of halal certified instant noodles. The aim is to find out the attributes of buying halal instant noodles that most affect student preferences and describe the relative importance of their attributes. The data used are UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta student with a sample of 391 people. This research use two method of conjoint analysis, Full Profile and Choice Based Conjoint. Attributes used amounted to 5. Origin product attribute with 2 levels are import and local. Packaging form attribute with 2 levels are plastic and cup. Net weight attribute with 3 levels, 60-85 grams, 86-120 grams, and 121-140 grams. Price attribute with 3 levels, IDR 2.500-5.000, IDR 5.500-15.000, and IDR 15.500-25.000. This type of noodles has 2 levels are fried and boiled. The result shows that using method of Full Profile, purchasing attribute of halal certified instant noodles that most influence the preferences of student of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta is the price (relative importance of 26.920%). Then followed by attribute of net weight (24.703%), attribute of packaging form (17.668%), original product attribute (15.515%), and type of noodles (15.194%). While using the Choice Based Conjoint, the influential attribute are the original product (32.504%). Then followed by price attribute (27,269%), attribute of net weight (20,926%), attribute of packaging form (17,147%), and type of noodles (2,155%).
