Abstract

This study aims to 1) Identify the physical concepts contained in the Cut the Rope; 2) Reviewing the physics concepts in Cut the Rope for learning physics in high school based on physics theory. This research is a qualitative research with analysis model by Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The data obtained is in the form of data tools, each level is reduced and a level that represents each tool is taken and then observed by a physics scholar using an observation guidelines. Observation results were analyzed using a tracker and studied based on theory of phsyics. The concept of physics found in the Cut the Rope is the concept of straight motion, vertical upward motion, free fall motion, gravity force, parabolic motion, circular motion, collision, wormhole theory, magnetism, floatation (Archimedes law), oscillation, Newton’s first law, Newton's second law, rope tension, and Hooke's law. Concepts including kinematic concepts and dynamics are further studied such as straight motion, vertical upward motion, free fall motion, parabolic motion, circular motion, collisions, oscillations, Newton's first law, Newton's second law, and Hooke's law. The results of the study conclude that all concepts can be used for learning of learning except the concept of circular motion by record, oscillation, and Newton's second law by Valve. The record does not cause the consept of circular motion because the length of the rope is not constant. The concept of oscillation and Newton’s second law by the valve cannot be used for learning because the oscillations that occur are damped oscillations and forces on the Newton’s second law that occur due to the valve is a non-constant force.
