Abstract

This research begins with experience and field observations. Not many early childhood education providers have multifunctional game tools that can develop aspects of cognitive development while at the same time developing social aspects. The need for APE to develop cognitive and social emotional aspects is needed in RA An- Nur's institution, because the cognitive and social aspects have not been able to develop in accordance with the standards for achieving child development, for which researchers developed the Dolpin Box to improve cognitive and social aspects. This research is a type of research and development (R & D) with the aim to develop learning media in the form of Dolpin Box (Dolanan Pintar) and to determine the effectiveness of the Dolpin Box in improving aspects of cognitive development and Social Aspects. This research process starts from planning, design and development. Validation consists of two, product validation by media experts and material validation by material experts. Experts provide assessments and suggestions for products developed. Furthermore, it was tested on a small scale. After that the product is used for large-scale trials, the researcher also collects teacher responses and suggestions for reference on product improvement so that it becomes the final product. The results of the validation of media experts and development material experts obtained a feasibility score, from material experts with a score of 4.14 with good categories, while media experts gave a score of 3.50 in the good category. N-gain calculation on cognitive aspects in the limited class obtained 8 high scores, and 2 scores, while in the broad-scale class all interpretations were high. The calculation of N-gain on Social Emotional aspects found 7 high interpretations and 3 moderate interpretations. On a broad class scale 10 were obtained with high interpretations and 10 with moderate interpretations. The results of this development study show that Kotak Dolpin products developed are feasible to be used as learning media in improving the Aspects of Cognitive Development and Emotional Social aspects. With the media box for students, RA An-Nur still wants to continue playing with dolpin boxes even though the learning hours have finished. And there is an increase in the social emotional aspects that can be seen clearly the collaboration of students when playing with the Dolpin Box increases and can affect the attitudes and behavior of RA An-Nur students.
