Abstract

Project-based learning is a learning model that uses projects or activities as media. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of project-based learning in class V science subjects and to determine the students' IPA abilities in project-based learning. This research uses descriptive qualitative with the type of case study research. The data sources in this study were the madrasa principals, fifth grade teachers, and fifth grade students. The method of collecting data was interviews, observation and documentation. Analysis of the data used is data reduction, data display, and conclusion / drawing / verivication. The results showed that project-based learning in class V was making motion dolls, making comics about human movements, making breathing organs of animals, making human respiratory organs and making posters of the human digestive system. The teacher gives the assignment / task sheet to be done by the students starting from the material supplies that the students bring and the procedures in making the project. The form of assessment made by the teacher is in accordance with the project assessment rubric of each student. The students' IPA skills in making motion puppets are very good category there are 7 students, there are 1 good category of students and need guidance there is 1 student. The project of making comics about human motion equipment is very good category, there are 7 students and good categories there are 2 students. The project makes the animal respiratory organs very good category there are 7 students and good categories there are 2 students. The project makes the human respiratory organs very good category, there are 6 students, both categories have 2 students, and enough categories there are 1 student. The project of making a poster of the human respiratory system of all 9 students was categorized as very good. Students' IPA abilities are different, with guidance from class teachers students can carry out project learning activities well in accordance with the learning objectives.
