Abstract

The heart rate measuring instrument using pulse sensor SEN-11574 Arduino Pro Mini with Android Smartphone and OLED SSD1306 has been successfully created. This study aims to create and test the heart rate measuring instrument with a pulse sensor. This instrument is designed to measure the value of heartbeats per minute in humans. This research is carried out through three stages, namely beginning with the design, making and testing of measuring instruments. The process of designing and manufacturing includes hardware and software. This system consists of a pulse sensor, Arduino Pro Mini, Bluetooth HC-05, FTDI 232, OLED SSD1306 and an Android Smartphone. There are two programming in software, namely Arduino IDE and App Inventor programming. System works with operation on an installed Android smartphone application that was created in the App Inventor program. Pulse sensors use the Photoplethymopgraph measurement method in reading heart rate. Results of the sensor measurements will be sent to Arduino to be processed and produce output data. The output statement is normal or abnormal heart rate. test method by clamping the measuring instrument on the middle finger. The measurement results will be displayed on the interface on Android smartphones and OLED SSD1306. Bluetooth as communication between Android and Bluetooth HC-05. Testing of measuring instruments compared with medical standard devices, namely oximeter. The results of this heart rate measuring instrument are able to work well. The test results show that the measuring instrument that has been made shows an accuracy of 99.93% and precision (ripability) of 99.67%.
