Abstract

Publishing scientific journals began to develop. At present not only universities are competing to publish internationally reputable journals but like research institutes and professional organizations are also starting to handle journals seriously. Measurement of the reputation of one journal with an impact factor journal. This study aims to determine the strategy for achieving impact factors journals that have been indexed internationally and nationally at the Universitas Negeri Semarang. This research uses a qualitative research approach. This type of research is descriptive research. The object of this research is the Journal published by Universitas Negeri Semarang. Data collection uses observation, documentation and interviews. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study Universitas Negeri Semarang uses a journal publishing strategy in accordance with existing guidelines. Based on the data findings in the field, not only carry out publishing strategies according to the guidelines. There are unwritten strategies to be indexed in international and national ranking, namely an appeal to visit journals before starting lectures, where journal managers have lecturers who are in charge of the course. Suggests citing articles written by lecturers contained in journals to improve citation. Collaborate with other researchers from abroad in writing articles in journals. This strategy has had the effect of indexing journals on international rankings, but this strategy cannot be duplicated by other journals that are still indexed nationally, due to the development of an ethical code of writing articles in international journals that have avoided these strategies.
