Abstract

This study aims to determine the picture of the character strength in the observers of the fasting of the sunnah of Daud. The approach in this research is to use qualitative research with a phenomenological research tradition type. The subjects in this study were selected by the technique used namely purposeful sampling / purposive sampling. Data collection methods used in this study were observation and interviews.The results of this study reveal a picture of the strength of character in the observers of Daud's sunnah fasting that begins events that have an impression and inspire informants so that the practice of Daud's fasting with the strength of character in the form of: consideration, tenacity, kindness, community / team work, self-control, caution, hope as well as its spirituality. Factors that influence the strength of the character of fasting Daud observers in the informants of this study are internal factors that include personal factors as well as spirituality / religious beliefs and external factors, namely educational factors. Furthermore, the interpretation of the Sunnah fasting of Daud in both research informants included increasing one's spirituality and understanding emotional intelligence.
