Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is aimed to develop the science module based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in the topic of light and to obtain the quality of the science module that has been developed. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) model using 4-D development method. The development method has 4 main steps; (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develope, (4) Disseminate. This research is limited to the Develop step, to the stage of validation of the assessment by the experts and science teachers. The research instruments are validation and assessment sheets for the experts. Product quality assessment uses a Likert scale with 4 scales made in the checklist form. Descriptive analysis is used to analyze the data. The results of the research as qualitative data are converted into quantitative data to obtain the assessment score. In the end, the quantitative data is translated into qualitative to determine the quality of the science module. The results find that the Problem Based Learning-based science module on the Light topic has been successfully developed through several stages: the analysis of student characteristics; curriculum and material analysis; initial product design and manufacturing; validation and revision of the first stage; product quality assessment and second stage revision. The Problem Based Learning-based science module is presented in the form of a full color book. Broadly speaking, this module contains light material that is presented based on the syntax of Problem Based Learning (PBL). The quality of the science module that is based on the assessment of material experts, media experts, and science teachers is Very Good (SB) with the average score are 3.46, 3.50, and 3.38. Kata kunci: Development, Science Module, Problem Based Learning, Light INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Cahaya dan mengetahui kualitas modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Cahaya yang telah dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D. Model pengembangan ini memiliki 4 langkah utama yaitu (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develope, (4) Disseminate. Penelitian ini dibatasi pada langkah Develop, yaitu sampai pada tahap validasi penilaian oleh para ahli dan guru IPA. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi dan lembar penilaian untuk ahli. Penilaian kualitas produk menggunakan skala likert dengan 4 skala yang dibuat dalam bentuk checklist. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan analisis deskritptif. Hasil penelitian yang berupa data kualitatif diubah menjadi data kuantitatif untuk memperoleh skor penilaian. Setelah itu data kuantitatif diubah lagi ke kualitatif untuk menentukan kualitas modul IPA. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa modul IPA berbasis Problem Based Learning pada materi Cahaya telah berhasil dikembangkan melalui beberapa proses/tahapan, yaitu analisis karakteristik siswa; analisis kurikulum dan materi; desain dan pembuatan produk awal; validasi dan revisi tahap pertama; penilaian kualitas produk dan revisi tahap kedua. Modul IPA berbasis Problem Based Learning disajikan dalam bentuk buku full colour. Secara garis besar modul ini memuat materi cahaya yang disajikan berdasarkan sintak Problem Based Learning (PBL). Kualitas modul IPA berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru IPA adalah Sangat Baik (SB) dengan rata-rata skor bertutut-turut adalah 3,46, 3,50, dan 3,38.
