Abstract

Depression case that occured in Indonesia until now there are still many happened. Even Yogyakarta is become the most of city that number of depressed sufferes so many. This depression can be suffered by anyone, usually depression can be from family problems or problem with social environment. Depressed sufferes especially in City of Yogyakarta doing the treatments in Puri Nirmala Special Hospital. Puri Nirmala is a Special hospital for psychiatric patients. Researchers found therapeutic communication happened between a nurse and depression patient in the healing process. Researchers analyzed use the theory of therapeutic communication and also put it to the theory of 5 stages of healing there are Recognize the symptoms, assuming the disease, contact with the health service, dependence, and heal. This research use the method descriptive qualitative. Informans of research is a nurses. Data is collected through in-depth interviews , observations the field and documentation. This research result indicates that therapeutic communication can be healing for depressions patients that happened 4 stages the are pre interaction, the orientation, the work and the termination.
