Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of hypnoteaching methods in learning Arabic between the experimental class and the control class among students of class XI MAN 1 Yogyakarta. This research is an experimental research that is a way to find causal relationship between two factors that are intentionally caused by the researcher by eliminating or reducing or leaving out other disturbing factors. The sample in this study consisted of 60 students, namely class XI MIPA 2 for 30 students as an experimental class, and class XI MIPA 3 for 30 students as a control class. The data collection techniques have been done through tests, questionnaires, observations, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques use an independent sample t test, paired sample t test and descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that the hypnoteaching method proved effective for increasing motivation and learning outcomes among students of XI MAN 1 Yogyakarta. This is evidenced by the results of the independent sample t test that sig 2 (tailed) 0,000 <0. 05 means effective, and also by an increase in the post-test average score 22.33, increasing from the average pre-test score 60.93 to 83.26 in the post-test score. Whereas the control class experienced an increase of 11.4, going up from the pre-test average score 67.93 to 79.33 in the post-test score. By looking at the difference in scores from those classes, it shows that the use of hypnoteaching methods proved effective in increasing the motivation and learning outcomes of Arabic among students in class XI MAN 1 Yogyakarta.
