Abstract

This research is motivated by many Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia which have not been qualified due to implementing a closed management system and not outward orientation till now, the policy resulted in the development of madrasah becoming very slow and even seeming static. One of the quality Islamic education institutions is managed by corporate management, namely the Education Organizing Agency Ma'arif Nahdlatul Ulama Banat Kudus. This study aims to find out and analyze the motivation, relationship patterns, management models and key factors of quality Islamic education at the Education Organizing Agency of the Ma'arif Nahdlatul Ulama Banat Kudus. This research is a field research with a qualitative-descriptive approach that intends to understand the main phenomena in the management of Quality Islamic education institutions. Methods of collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation, while data analysis is done using data reduction, data presentation, data verification and data analysis methods. The results of the study are as follows; (1) Motivation of madrasah NU Banat Kudus organizes quality Islamic education is creating a female madrasah which directing Ahlussunah Wal Jamaah and quality oriented. (2) The Managements of quality Islamic education institutions at BPPMNU Banat is Tauhid based management. To achieve success in implementing tauhid management BPPMNU Banat applies several foundations in all madrasah activities, they are: insan man, Allah’s promise to believers, struggle to achieve Allah’s love and essence of taqwa. (3) The key factors in the management of quality Islamic education institutions include: relation pattern between BPPMNU Banat and its education units, they are: first, Instruction pattern by BPPMNU Banat to education units in terms of democratic and tolerant quality management. Second, the Coordination Pattern, BPPMNU Banat Kudus arranges programmed coordination every Sunday at the beginning and ending of the month. Third, Decision-Making Patterns, BPPMNU Banat Kudus gives independence chance to organize the activities which are beneficial for the development of students' potential for each education unit under the rules that it’s not break the rules of BPPMNU Kudus Banat. Fourth, selection pattern of school principals, school principals’s selection in education unit of BPPMNU Kudus is entirely determined by the management board of BPPMNU Kudus Banat.
