Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of violence that often occurs in the educational environment, which tends to position students as victims of this behavior. The experience of students in the violent behavior they experience, both physical, psychological, verbal and sexual abuse, has the potential to make students as perpetrators of violence in the future. The purpose of this study was to find out and explain the implementation of ethnopedagogy management, which was implemented by SMP Negeri l Kalasan in the child friendly school program. This school policy is seen as an alternative solution, to prevent, minimize, and protect students, from violent behavior in the educational environment, according to the local context of the school itself. This type of research is descriptive qualitative analysis, using a phenomenological approach. In collecting data, the author uses three methods, namely: (1) observation, (2) documentation, and (3) in-depth interviews. Data analysis using data analysis techniques Miles and Huberman, which includes three activities, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. As for testing the credibility of the data, the author uses a data source triangulation technique. The results of this study show the following: First, the urgency of applying ethnopedagogy management in the child friendly school program is to foster awareness of the importance of child-friendly programs in the educational environment, cultivate child-friendly behavior, increase active participation from school stakeholders, and as part of follow-up on the education policy of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Secondly, the implementation of ethnopedagogy management in the child friendly school Program is carried out through four stages, namely: the preparation stage to identify the basic potential of the school, the planning stage for compiling the school program in accordance with its basic potential, the implementation phase where the school implements the program collectively, and the evaluation stage is the process of measuring the results of implementation with the planned program planning. Third, the barriers to the implementation of ethnopedagogy management in the child friendly school program, namely; the collector's school organization is not maximal, the school land is limited, the school funding system is lacking, cultural facilities in the school environment are still limited, and the condition of the school environment is prone to traffic accidents. The challenges faced by the school are the geographical location of schools located in developing regions, and the rise of Kpop culture that is popular among teenagers.
