Abstract

This research is focused on planting tolerance values in PIRI 1 Yogyakarta High School. PIRI 1 Yogyakarta High School has a variety of students from different backgrounds who often cause conflicts, such as language differences that sometimes cause misunderstandings. Therefore PIRI 1 Yogyakarta High School emphasizes the inculcation of tolerance values so that students do not make differences in their religious, ethnic, racial and other backgrounds as negative, so that students are able to live side by side in harmony and peace. In PIRI 1 Yogyakarta High School, religion education teachers, civic education teachers and physical, sport and healt education teachers have their respective roles and techniques in instilling tolerance values in students. This type of research is a field research with ethnographic approach. Then the data collection techniques in this research include observation, interviews, documentation and field notes. The subjects in this study were religion education teachers , Civic education teachers, physical, sport and healt education teachers, students and the head of PIRI 1 Yogyakarta High School. The object of this research is the role and technique of religion education teachers, civic education teacher and physical, sport and healt education teachers in instilling tolerance values in students. The results of this study indicate that (1) The role of religion education teachers, civic education teachers and physical, sport and healt education teachers in instilling tolerance values is the teacher as an informator, facilitator, motivator and supervisor. religion education teachers and physical, sport and healt education teachers are more dominant in carrying out their role as facilitators, while Civic education teachers are mentors. religion education teachers as facilitators using learning methods in the form of case studies and also experiential based learning, while physical, sport and healt education teachers as facilitators namely with peer learning and also sports learning activities and Civic education teachers as supervisors by directing students who have not been able to use learning methods that are (2) religion education teachers teachers use reflective techniques, where students are faced with actual conditions such as the visit to the Saya Ibu Foundation, while Civic education teachers use game techniques where students will later be aware of differences, and physical, sport and healt education teachers use peer techniques where students can understand each other's characters and also language. (3) The results of the inculcation of tolerance values indicate that PIRI 1 Yogyakarta high school students have adopted an attitude of mutual tolerance such as respecting differences that exist in the absence of discrimination and mutual care by raising funds for social service.
