Abstract

The background of this research is educational institutions should be the places for students to learn that could be educating as well as fun. However, a number of recent cases proved that there seems to be something wrong in the process of developing education. Bullying cases done by students in schools which increasingly appear on the headline of news on printed or electronic media pages, is the evidence of the decline of human values. PAI (Islamic Education) teachers in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta try to instill Islamic values in order to prevent bullying behavior. The formulation of the problem in this study, are: 1) What are the forms of bullying cases in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta? 2) Why does bullying occur in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta? 3) How to instill Islamic values in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta? This study aims to describe the forms of bullying of students in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, the causes of bullying behavior in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, and instilling Islamic values in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta. The results of this study are expected to be one of the references to prevent bullying cases. The type of this research is qualitative research with phenomenology approach. The subjects in this study are PAI Teacher, students, BK Teacher, Principals and deputy head of student affairs. The results of the research showed that, first, the forms of bullying in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta are bullying physical forms,such as: fighting, kicking, nudging, pushing, pinching, stepping on feet, damage other people's goods, and throwing stuff. Verbal bullying, such as: mocking by calling the names of parents, mocking physically, mocking the academic intelligence and parents‟ job, giving reproach, gossiping. Mental/psychological bullying consists of exclusion / ostracism, looking cynically, displaying a condescending facial expression, public humiliation. Secondly, the cause of bullying in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, are: the first is family factor; the second is school and environment, and the third is peers and the last is the personality. Third, the instilling Islamic values inpreventing bullying cases in the IT Middle School of Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, namely 1) Habituation, 2) Ibrah and Amtsal, 3) Giving Advice.
