Abstract

The picture in a textbook is an imitation of an object in a textbook. In aesthetic philosophy, when pouring thoughts (artistic experience) into an image, a creator must be able to make other people interested and understand the information on the object drawn. The scope of aesthetic values can be seen from two points of view; expression and position. This research aims to; 1) analyze the quality of pictures of textbooks published by the ministry of education and agriculture in terms of aesthetic philosophy, and 2) study the function and role of picture books published by the ministry of education and agriculture in terms of aesthetic philosophy. The research method used is the method of library research. Data collection techniques used were documentation and interviews. Data analysis was performed using steps of library research; Prepare equipment, prepare work bibliographies, manage time, read, and draw conclusions. The primary sources used are Deni Junaedi's book entitled aesthetics; interlacing object, object, and value. The object of his research is the pictures of the 2017 revised edition of the textbook published by the Ministry of Education and Agriculture with the theme of five ecosystems for fifth-grade students. The results of research that have been done, the results of it; the image quality is interesting, in terms of aesthetic value. Textbook drawings already meet the aesthetic value agreement, namely; from the perspective of perspective; the order of strategy and chaos, then the position standpoint; dependent and independent. As the function and role of the textbook picture, it is approved, that is; Functions, 1) can attract spectators' attention, 2) aligning objects, 3) facilitate understanding of spectators, 4) stimulate spectator motivation, 5) provide spectator new information, 6) help spectators to store information according to a long period of time, 7) motivate audience, Role; The picture displays variations in color and shape; 2) helps the transition process to the next phase without eliminating the aesthetic aspects of the image, 3) The image can also stimulate fine motor or spectator aesthetic learning, 4) The image helps the spectator in assisting the information inside. 5) Images can provoke the subconscious spectator, 6) Images as a phenomenon of summary in symbolic form.
