Abstract

Disorders of adolescence and children, which are referred to as childhood disorders and cause minor emotional distress as well as other psychiatric disorders in the perpetrators, may later develop into juvenile delinquency. On D.I. Yogyakarta has decreased from year to year the number of existing child convicts. Based on these data explaining the declining number of criminal offspring does not mean proving that the criminal offending program is successful. Former prisoners of productive age, like others, are required to be successful in at least three domains of life, namely education, work, and marriage. Among the negative effects of being a former convict include having poor self-acceptance. This has an impact on post-punishment experiences such as lack of self-confidence and lack of responsibility which will result in poor self-acceptance. This study aims to find out how an ex-convict boy can accept himself after serving his sentence. The research subjects were three people, determined by purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. The results show that the description of the quality of the subject with a family or environment that is not good will give a big influence on them in committing a crime. Former inmates who have low self-acceptance are bound to experience depression. On the other hand, aspects of a resilient personality such as self-control and being able to accept changes can increase self-acceptance. Subjects with poor self-acceptance will experience depression, lack of self-confidence, and be less responsible for themselves. We will look for reasons to cover up the shortcomings and mistakes are also the impact of poor self-acceptance. From this study, self-understanding, pleasant members of the community both from outside the family, and within were one of the biggest factors in influencing the self-acceptance of a former child convict.
