Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Indonesian coal production, export prices, inflation of importer countries, the real exchange rates of importer countries, and the real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of importer countries on the volume of Indonesian coal exports to five export destination countries (Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan and India) from 2004 to 2018. The analytical method used in this study is panel data regression with fixed effect models to determine the effect of independent variables of Indonesian coal exports. The result showed that Indonesian coal production has a negative and significant impact on Indonesian coal exports, export prices has a positive and significant impact on Indonesian coal exports, inflation of importer countries has a positive and insignificant impact on Indonesian coal exports, the real exchange rates of importer countries has a positive and insignificant impact on Indonesian coal exports, the real GDP of importer countries has a positive and significant impact on Indonesian coal exports.
