Abstract

This study aims to examine the comparison of the financial performance of Muamalat banks with Islamic commercial banks for the period of 2016 - 2018. This research is a quantitative study that uses secondary data types and is Panel. Data processed in this study were sourced from financial reports published by each bank. The method used in this study is Economic Value Added (EVA) and profitability which are processed using Microsoft Excel software. The results of this study indicate that based on calculations using profitability ratios (ROA, ROE, and BOPO) the performance of Muamalat banks is considered to be less good compared to Islamic commercial banks, whereas if calculated using EVA methods Muamalat banks show positive values which means they are able to create added value.
