Abstract

Philosophy of Islamic education is the concept of thinking about education that originate or is based on Islamic techings about the ability of humans to be fostered and developed and guided into Muslim people whose entire personality is imbued with Islamic teachings. Philosophy of Islamic Education goes beyond the absolute, based on revelation and develops aspects of all aspects of personality beginning with reason, intuition and sensory. Philosophy is really needed in the world of education, because without the philosophy of the world of education means breaking the chain of teachings of Islam. In the view of Islam the state of the survivors is when the people are close to Islam, as well as a society based on the teachings of the Quran and Sunna startin from a good individual starting from a small age in the world of education. Philosophy can also produce progressive and advanced outputs. When Islamic education aspires to the creation of humanity and new life, Islamic life must be grounded in fundamental conditions about individuals, society and the world. In the 20th century, Indonesia had two educational systems, namely secular and tradisional, secular education was an education system established by te Dutc East Indies government, in the education system only general knowledge was taught, where as traditional education was an education system established by Muslim clerics, which in the education system is only taught religious knowledge. This event shows that education in Indonesia has not yet reached the actual education sstandard, because the goal of education in Indonesia is to shape the character of students with general knowledge but cannot be separated from the faith and piety of Allah SWT.but the problem is that schools in Indonesia mostly only prioritize general education rather than Islamic religious education. This Study aims to change the mindset of students that Islamic education is a major influence on their lives in the future. In this study there are two reformers of Islamic education who are still known today, namely KH Ahmad Dahlan an KH Imam Zarkasyi, they are the same, same life in a family environment that has knowledge of the Islamic religion well, Since childhood they have presented Islamic religious sciences, living with the teaching of self-introduction to the creator namely Allah SWT makes these two figures able to exchange ideas with their teachers to renewing Islamic religious education in the archipelago, the aim of these two figures to do this renewal was because they were anxious about the education that wxixted at they opened their minds more broadly so that their students would no longer experiencence deterioration in Islamic religious education. This study compares the thoughts of the two leaders of the renewal of Islamic education, starting from the renewal of the education system, education methods, education materials, educational curricula and the education system that was initiated by KH Imam Zarkasyi through the Gontor Islamic Boarding School and KH Ahmad Dahlan trough the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and School based on Islam such as Elemetery School Muhammadiyah wich is spread in various regions. The changes made by them that are very beneficial for all people throughout the archipelago, they make Islamic religious education better known and more valued, such as schools that were built and developed. The results of their renewal made most parents prefer to send their children to schools based on Islamic religious education or to education or to Islamic boarding schools because morality and Aqeedah taught can change the mindset of children for the better, especially obedient and obedient to Allah SWT, the messenger of Allah and to his parents.
