Abstract

This study aims to determine how the role of ganesa libraries in supporting the movement of school literacy in SMA Negeri 1 Cangkringan. This research uses qualitative descriptive method, case study approach with librarians, School Literacy Movement TEAM and library research subjects. The object of this research is the role of the Ganesha library in supporting the School Literacy Movement in SMA Negeri 1 Cangkringan. The data collection techniques of this research are observation, interview and documentation. The process of data analysis involves methods of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/ variations. Validation of the data using data creadibility by increasing provisions, triangulation, extension of observation and member check. The results of this study are SMA Negeri 1 Cangkringan has implemented GLS according to the of education and culture with the following programs (1) The role of libraries in support the implementation of GLS Conducting reading material, reading corners of the class, pages, and developing reading corners outside the school such as in the Cangkringan district and puskesmas offices. (2). the library has implemented the School Literacy Movement in accordance with the 2015’s School Literacy Movement design policy, but it is still in stage one or the habituation stage. (3). The GLS application program reads to support the implementation of School Literacy Movement in various programs, 15 minutes of reading before the first lesson, resuming books that have been read, training to write bulletins, wall magazine, and youth scientific works. bstacles in implementing GLS facilities / infrastructure, Human Resources (HR) limited librarians, time management less effective 15 minutes in the morning, the solution is to increase the collection of looking for donors, adding HR / librarians and adding time outside of literacy hours, during breaks or on the sidelines KBM. Based on the results of the study there are a number of suggestions, namely the need for an increase in the stages of GLS, the need for cooperation between the school and parents of students to improve the application of the role of libraries in the School trLiteracy Movement activities.
