Abstract

Economic development is a mandatory program for the government and the aim is of course to prosper the community. But along with economic development programs inequality in income distribution also happens. Inequality in income distribution is a scourge in economic development that the government requires to achieve. This study aims to look at what factors determine the inequality of income distribution. This study uses time-series data from 13 provinces in eastern Indonesia with range of year in 2011-2018 with Gini ratio variables, economic growth, GDP per capita, inflation and regional spending. The analytical method used is panel data regression with fixed-effect analysis. The analysis reveals that regional inflation and expenditure variables have a positive and significant effect on income distribution inequality, economic growth variables have a positive but insignificant effect on income distribution inequality, while the GDP per capita variable has a negative and significant effect on income distribution inequality. Based on the classification of Typology Klassen quadrant I (Bali, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi), quadrant II (North Maluku, Gorontalo and West Sulawesi), quadrant III (Papua, West Papua and North Sulawesi), quadrant IV (West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara and Maluku).
