Abstract

This research used qualitative methods. Formulation of the problem in this research is how the strategy of use of the library as a learning resource in an effort to increase student achievement SD Kaliberot Bantul Yogyakarta. The purpose of this research to establish a pattern or strategy formulation regarding use of the library as a learning resource in improving academic achievement. This research collected data through observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis in this research using the theory of Matthew B. Miles & A. Michael Huberman, which include data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of this research can be formulated that strategy use of the library as a learning resource in an effort to increase student achievement that have been implemented in the elementary school Kaliberot Bantul Yogyakarta, among them is the creation of teaching associated with the use of the facilities available in the library for example by watching the story of the prophet / story of the prophets in the library at the time of religious studies; conduct promotional activities as a library by taking special events, as well as hold events must-read in the library. Referring to these results, the suggestions put forward, namely that the program activity must be made more structured reading and tighter cooperation between the principal, teachers, and librarians in the use of the library as a learning resource so that the library be intensified to encourage academic achievement and learning activities teaching in the classroom and outside the classroom.
