Abstract

The objective of this essay is to give some information about labor-oriented learning concept in order to obtain alumni with skills, able to search their self-potency, suitable to labor market, independent, ready to use and ready to work. Based on a scientific thought and theories of education paradigm development, learning strategy in university needs to apply a focused based learning which is suitable for market need. There are many factors to reach this objective, one of them is by changing the approach and learning strategy from supply driven to demand driven; from campus based program to industrial based program; from learning by teaching model to competence model following multy entry and multy exit principles; learning of widely basic program to focused based education; and lastly, learning which recognize the knowledge and expertise obtained from either formal or non-formal education.
