Abstract

The concept of God is the basic thing for people's life. Understaiiding of life, human relationship, ethical problems, and the beIief in the life after death is determined by the imderstanding of the concept of God as a starting point. People who regard God as the Beautiful will have impression on the beauty in their own awareness and wiIl cast the arrogance attitude outward. This article treats of understanding of God from Islamism and Taoism, This comparative study results in a conclusion that the concept of God of both religions is indifferent. Both reagrd Gos as the Immanent and the Trancsendent. Both believe that God is as entity with masculinity and famininity. Both view that the *-. reality of God is irrational and hidden. To know Him can be through understanding His attributes reflected in His creatures. The difference is that lslam plainly states that His Oneness is as the onIy unique logic with claim of tauhid while the Taoism doesnot.
