Abstract

Rahmah el-Yunusiyah was an innovator in Islamic for women in M!nangkabau. When her age relatively young, about 23* year, Rahmah have established an institut/on ofIslamic education, especially for women community, it's name "Diniyah School Poetri" at 1923. The Purpose of this school was to praise women status and dignity. 5he was never learning in any school regularly, neither Government School nor Traditional Elementary School, Surau. As an educational innovator, Rahmah had abtity to create and to construct an unique modelf so became her own model, in modern education for women in Minangkabau. Her concept have adjusted to women's need and necessity. The concept consist of religion and formal education, productive training, moral and ethic based on Islam explicitly, and tradition implicitly.
