Abstract

This article discusses the concept of human beings in the Qur'an based on educational perspective. Humans are perceived as beings who have capacity to reflect and think. The function of Islamic education is to help students developing this intellectual capacity in order to make them able to grasp and absorb the God mystery in the universe. However, the author argues that Islamic education not only emphasizes on intellectual exercise, but educating the heart as well since it is the place o/iman. Thus, Islamic education emphasizes both intellectual and mind aspects.
