Abstract

This artick tries to explore some difficulties for applying curriculum based competence (CBC) for Islamic religious teaching at schools. As we know that CBC is much different from curriculum before (curriculum 1994 and supplement 1999). So, the problems that will be solved here are 'What are difficulties in applying CBC for Islamic religious teaching at schools?', and how to solve them?'. By means of giving training of applying CBC for Islamic teachers at several places, the writer knows that they still find many difficulties for applying CBC at their schools. First, most of the hlamic teachers do not have documents of CBC. Second, they feel difficult in understanding document of CBC conceptually. Third, it is very difficult for them to develop syllabus. Fourth, it is still hard for them to choose and apply active learning strategies. And fifth, they find it difficult to make several instruments to evaluate learning outcomes. Most of the difficulties fased by Islamic teachers in applying CBC at their schools can be solved by means of having training. They have been given documents of CBC to read and to understand, but most of them find it difficult to understand the documents. They need fasilitators to help them, to understand the documents of CBC, to develop Syllabus, to make many instruments infasilitating their students'leaming, to have skills in applying strategies of active learning, and to make instruments to evaluate learning outcomes. Vnfortunatelly, up to now many kinds of training to solve the difficulties have not been held.
