Abstract

This purpose of this reserch is to know student’s perceptions about the quality of the OPAC Art Polytechnic as a means of information retrieval in Center of Development Empowerment Teachers and Education Personnel Art and Culture ture Yogyakarta. This research is quantitative descriptive research. Subjects in this research is a student at the Polytechnic Art Library Center of Development Empowerment Teachers and Education Personnel Art and Culture Yogyakarta, while the object of this research is the Art Polytechnic student perceptions about the quality of the OPAC as a means of information retrieval. Methods of collecting data through interviews, documentation and observation. Mean while, the research population is the Yogyakarta Arts Polytechnic students totaling 182 students. Samples taken from the population based on Simamora’s formula, which resulting 65 members. Samples taken by using accidental sampling method. Analysis of the data using the formula mean and mean grean. The results showed that students' perceptions about the quality of the OPAC Art Polytechnic as a means of information retrieval in Center of Development Empowerment Teachers and Education Personnel Art and Culture Yogyakarta quite good. It can be seen from the average value of the total variable Art Polytechnic students' perceptions about the quality of the OPAC in Library Polytechnic Art in Center of Development Empowerment Teachers and Education Personnel Art and Culture at 3.02 that fall into either category. This study is expected to provide input to the Library Center of Development Empowerment Teachers and Education Personnel Art and Culture Yogyakarta to socialize or user education to the students of the Polytechnic of Art on the OPAC services, because of the calculation of the average on each of the indicators in this study are included in both categories, but the indicator real use of the resulting average value of the lowest compared with other indicators, namely 2.77 with either category.
