Abstract

The purpose of this research was to assess the usability of non package books collection in Muntilan Elementary School’s Library, Magelang regency, Central Java based on circulation statistics. This research used a descriptive approach - quantitative. The research instrument used was a checklist. The population numbering used was at 1.467 titles. Sampling was conducted by Strata Sampling (Stratified Random Sampling) thus obtained for 315 samples. Scale fault tolerance limit (e) was set at 5%. Sampling techniques for each strata was done by lottery. The results showed that almost the entire collection of books borrowed with - average usage percentage of 79.61%. Based on the research results presented some suggestions to add to the usage of existing collections, among others: the addition of title for a collection that has a high lending rates, the most active borrowers shall be awarded with prize, cooperate with teachers to use the library collection. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keterpakaian koleksi buku non paket di SDN Muntilan, Kabupaten Magelang berdasarkan data statistik sirkulasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif – kuantitatif. Instrumen Penelitian yang digunakan adalah daftar checklist. Populasi berjumlah 1.467 judul. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode Strata Sampling (Stratified Random Sampling) sehingga didapat sebesar 315 sampel. Skala toleransi batas kesalahan (e) yang ditetapkan sebesar 5%. Teknik penarikan sampel untuk setiap strata dilakukan dengan cara undian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruh koleksi buku dipinjam dengan rata – rata prosentase pemakaian sebesar 79,61%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka disampaikan beberapa saran untuk menambah jumlah keterpakaian koleksi yang ada, antara lain : penambahan judul untuk koleksi yang memiliki angka peminjaman tinggi, Pemberian hadiah peminjam terbanyak, kerjasama dengan guru untuk pemanfaatan koleksi perpustakaan, dan lain – lain.
