DI SMP NEGERI 1 MLATI SLEMAN YOGYAKARTA
Libraries are educational resources, research, preservation and conservation
of the cultural treasures of the nation as well as a healthy recreation places, cheap
and useful. With the support infrastructure and a well-stocked school library can
serve as a source of learning. This study aims to determine the role of the school
library as a learning resource and stimulus factors and the role of the school
library as a learning resource in SMP Negeri 1 MlatiSleman.This research is
descriptive qualitative. Retrieval of data using the method of observation,
interview and documentation. Observation method is done by observation and go
directly to the site about the role of the school library SMP Negeri 1 mlatSleman,
factors driving and inhibiting the school library as a learning resource.The results
of the research revealed that the role of the school library as a learning resource in
SMP Negeri 1 MlatiSleman has been going well, it can been seen from teachers
already using the library as a source of information that can assist in the process of
teaching and learning activities, although related to the use of the library teaching
and learning activities adapted to the material being taught . Then to students also
utilize the library as a place for learning and discussion and to find references
complete the tasks assigned by the teacher. The factors driving the role of the
school library as a learning resource in SMP Negeri 1 MlatiSleman is student
interest, personnel managers, library collections, student motivation, as well as
building and library facilities. While the inhibiting factors are students reluctant to
use the library and the density of the curriculum in schools.
