The aim of this research is to learning the morphology of CNF synthesize using the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method derived from rice husk ash. This research also examines the relationship between variations in the percentage of catalyst composition (3, 5 and 7% wt) to the results of CNF formed. The CNF samples were characterized using SEM and XRD. This research the rice husk waste was carbonized at temperature 400oC. The carbon produced is then activated using NaOH (ratio 1: 3). The sample solution was then neutralized with 37% HCl and rinsed using distilled water. The activated carbon samples were then mixed with Ni catalyst and put into the CVD reactor with a temperature of 650oC and flowed by acetylene gas. Characterization results using SEM exhibited that samples with a catalyst percentage of 3% yield the diameter of CNF 196 and 210 nm, catalyst percentage of 5%, yield the diameter of CNF 178 and 427 nm, catalyst percentage of 7%, yield the diameter of CNF 665 and 746 nm. Characterization of XRD, shows the highest diffraction peaks at an angle of 2θ 44.32o and 44.45o with a crystal plane (10) which indicates the presence of a turbostratic carbon structureNIM. 14620030 Hendra Nugroho
