This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection methods through observation, structured interviews, group discussion forums and documentation. While the data collection used a purposive sampling technique, namely data taken from people who know and have basic information about the research topic, in this case the preservation and dissemination of information on ancient manuscripts of the Tengger tribe of Mount Bromo.
This research has the following results: (1) The preservation and dissemination of information on ancient manuscripts of the Tengger Gunung Bromo tribe by the Mpu Tantular Museum, East Java, has made efforts, among others, by considering four aspects of preservation methods including maintained cleanliness, disaster management that has not been organized, preservation of media transfer which is proven in real terms, collaborations that have been carried out can support the lack of digitalization of ancient manuscripts of the Tengger tribe of Mount Bromo; (2) When viewed in terms of the perspective of the theory of morphogenesis of social change can provide an understanding that the preservation and dissemination of information on ancient manuscripts of the Tengger tribe of Mount Bromo has not been can affect social change due to the absence of maximum interaction between agents of the Tengger Tribe community of Mount Bromo and the MPU Tantular Museum, East Java; (3) Obstacles faced related to the process of preservation and dissemination of information itself are in internal conditions, which is lacks of human resources, the absence of complete SOPs both related to the preservation and dissemination of information in writing, the dual work of employees, limited tools owned by museums and also external constraints, namely the tribal community. preservasi photograph in Museum Country of Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta cover two

In general, this research aims to determine the implementation of digital preservation and the challenges faced in conducting digital preservation by the People's Sovereignty Editor. Based on the results of the study, it can be said that the digital preservation strategies carried out are technology preservation strategies, back up strategies, and migration and reformatting strategies. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriftif kualitatif, dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Proses analisis data menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman, yaitu dengan mereduksi data; memfokuskan pada tema penelitian, menyajikan data; menjelaskan berdasarkan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, serta menyimpulkan hasil analisis setelah tahapan-tahapan analisis selesai. Sedangkan pengujian keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan empat cara, yaitu : credibility, transferability, dependability dan confirmability.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada dua bentuk kegiatan preservasi bahan pustaka di Kantor Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kota Yogyakarta, pertama, preservasi bahan pustaka secara preventif. Kedua, preservasi bahan pustaka secara kuratif . Preservasi bahan pustaka secara preventif mencakup beberapa kegiatan, seperti, checking, selecting, pencegahan kerusakan dari faktor manusia, pengaturan sirkulasi udara,dan pemberian kapur barus. Sedangkan preservasi bahan pustaka secara kuratif meliputi : Kegiatan shelving, penyampulan, serta yang terakhir adalah kegiatan perbaikan. divNIM.: 06140075 MOH ALI MAKKI
