Abstract

The Hunger Game is a movie by Suzane Collin. It is the object of this graduating paper. This movie tells about a game called Hunger Game. It is the horrible game in Panem. It used to remain the past rebellion of the districts. The Hunger Game is lead by President Snow. The rule of the Hunger Gameis each districts have to send two participants as the tribute. In the Hunger Game, they are forced to kill each other until one left as the winner and get the wealth from the Capitol. In 74th annual Hunger Game, it leads by Seneca and Effie as the one who picked up the tributes from district 12. The selected tributes from district 12 are Katniss and Peeta. They will face the game with the other tributes from another district. In the way to the Capitol they meet Haymitch, the man who win the previous game and now become their mentor. Seeing this movie, the writer analyzes the representation of woman as heroine as reflected by the main character in the movie. The writer analyzes the adventures of Katniss in the movie that will fit her as the myth of hero. In this movie, Katniss follows the stages of hero’s adventure according to Campbell. She follows the stage from the Departure, Initiation and Return adventure. The second analysis is about the symbol of hero that represents by Katniss through her physical appearance. For the result, the first analysis explains that Katniss can be fitted as the heroine’s myth since she follows the stages of hero’s adventure. The second analysis explains that through her physical appearance, Katniss showed the symbol of heroine.
