Abstract

This research has purpose to explore and to understand what actually perceived and experienced by the first wife polygamy and to know the concept of love owned before and after polygamy and what factors that influence the changes existence of concept of love. The informants consisted of three first wives polygamy. This research used a qualitative method with a study case approach. In this study the method of collecting data by interviews and observation. The Analysis of data is using data organization and coding. The results of this research indicate a change in the concept of love of the first wife before and after polygamy. The first informant changed from Romantic love into Liking, the second informant changed from Consummate love into Fatuous love, and the third informant changed from Fatuous love into Non love. The changes of concept of love for the first wife influent by some factors : first is caused by husband marriage that has no permission which influence decrease the reliance to the husband, second is share overnight allotment, third is the change of attitude from husband to first wife and children from the first wife.
