Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of Theory of Planned Behavior in terms of investment behavior in Sharia Shares. Attitudes, subjective norms and behavioral controls are the three variables used in this study to asses UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students’s investment intention in Sharia Shares. The objects of this research were UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students where the 100 respondents were randomly selected. Data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that all variables - attitudes, subjective norms and behavioral controls – simultaneously have a significant effect on UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students’s investment intention in Sharia Shares. Partially, attitudes, subjective norms, and behavioral controls affect the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students’s investment intention in Sharia Shares. The coefficient of determination shows the number of 0.592, which means that the dependent variables of investment intention in sharia shares can be explained by attitudes, subjective norms and behavioral controls independent variables of 59.2%, while 40.8% is explained by other variables beyond this study.
