Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between attachment styles and commitment. The research was conducted in UIN Sunan Kalijaga with as many sample of 77 active students who are undergoing long distance relationship in UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The data collected used the measurement scale of attachment styles which is written by Fitria & Fitriana (2016) consisting of 22 items and the commitment scale is written by Elen (2011) consists of 24 items. It has hypotetized that there is correlation between attchment styles and commtment of student who are undergoing long distance relationship. Data analysis technique used multiple regression analysis. Hypotesis test result uses multiple regression analysis technique show that there is no correlation between attchment styles and commtment with a correlation of 0,234 and p 0,039 (p 0,05). Whereas, when viewed in each dimension of attachment styles, only the dimension of fearful style has a significant relationship with commitment.
