Abstract

The purpose of this study to find out about the stigma of people who interact with people with schizophrenia and look for forms of stigma against the sufferer. This research uses qualitative approach with phenomenology study method. Phenomenology studies are used to assess personal experiences of stigma against schizophrenics. Informants in this study amounted to 5 people. Data collection using interviews and observation. The results of the five informants show aspects that include perspective, identity, and reaction. Schizophrenic identities can be identified by physical and behavioral traits. Cognitive reactions include scary, harmful, threatening, etc. Affective reactions include embarrassment, disgust, pity, etc. The behavior response is divided into two forms: positive repon and negative response. Positive responses of informants include providing activities, interacting, paying attention. Preferably, negative responses such as infroman avoid, indifferent, lazy, left out.
