Abstract

Moral development is an important and complex issue facing educational institutions especially in religious societies in the modern world. In Indonesia itself, it is proven in various media published many cases of immoral and criminal acts where more concern is not the least done by children, especially the age of primary school and adolescents. Moral development is about what it does to influence how students think, feel, and act on issues that are right and wrong. It can not be realized by coaching in the classroom, but more than that, outside the classroom is also important one of them through extracurricular activities. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of Cognitive Moral Development Approach to the moral development of children through extracurricular Badui at MI Ma'arif Margokaton. The subjects of this study were 25 students of MI Ma'arif Margokaton who followed Badui extracurricular activities. This study is a quantitative quasi-experimental study with one group pre-test post-test design. Data collection using moral development questionnaires with the results of data analysis using statistical techniques Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The result of data analysis gives Z value equal to -4,384 with significance level p = 0,000 (p <0,05) which means hypothesis accepted. This means that the use of cognitive moral development approach through Badui extracurricular effect on moral development of children with comparison of pretest-postest score experimental group experienced a change. With the results of a study showing that cognitive moral development approach through Badui extracurricular can develop a moral that emphasizes the moral of conscience, self-kontrol, and better tolerance significantly.
