Abstract

This study aimed to describe the efforts of the madrasah in optimizing the quality culture to enhance the academic achievement of MI Ma'arif Sendang Kulon Progo. The results of this study are expected to contribute ideas in order to implement a management strategy for education practitioners to optimize academic achievement. This study is a qualitative research, by taking the background MI Ma'arifSendangKulonProgo. The collection of data held by pengamatam, interviews and documentation. The data analysis was done by conducting triangulation with two mode, comparing the observed data with data from interviews and comparing data from interviews with the contents of the documents related. The results showed that the educational model MI Ma'arifSendangKulonProgo. is a model that implements a full day of school education (Full Day School). As a madrassa already chalked many achievements in old age and rose again, must not be separated from efforts headmaster in optimizing the quality culture in order to improve academic achievement. These efforts can be optimized through the two sides, through: 1) Cultivating talent and potential of learners that includes: a) selfdevelopment activities. b) habituation program. c) life skills education. 2) Optimizing the learning activities of learners that includes: a) the development of the curriculum. b) the development of the quality of the learning process. c) development of human resources at the school. d) development of madrasah facilities. e) improving discipline through the implementation of effective regulation. f) increasing ability learners' knowledge. g) the implementation of monitoring. h) the implementation of the evaluation. While supporting factor in optimizing the quality culture in order to improve academic achievement, namely the handling of discipline at the school which is quite satisfactory, their power human resources support, support of natural resources or the environment, and at least learners so that more concentration on fostering and overseeing the learning activities in madrassas, The inhibiting factor is the infrastructure is still lacking, the lack of financial resources, lack of optimal performance of the teachers and employees devote time to madrasas.
