Abstract

For people who have studied philosophy, when hearing the word philosophy will think of complicated science, boring science, annoying, or even also consider it to be something to be stray. Very few laypeople who want and able to study it. Since April 2013 the Koran Philosophy Program at the Jendral Sudirman Mosque (MJS) Yogyakarta is a place for people to study philosophy. The purpose of this study is to figure out how the persuasive communication strategy by the speaker of the Ngaji Filsafat so that interest in studying philosophy increased at that program, using The Communication Strategy Theory of Persuasion Melvin L. De Fleur and Sand J. Ball-Roceach (1989). The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Researchers use interviews, observations, and document as data collection methods, and descriptive analysis as a data analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that the persuasive communication strategy which has been done by Dr. Fahruddin Faiz, M. Ag. as a Koran speaker Philosophy through simplelanguage, the material associated with daily life, and new knowledge that can attract students to study philosophy through the Ngaji Filsafat Program at the Jendral Sudirman Mosque (MJS) Yogyakarta.
