Abstract

This resesrh aims to (1) Produce a science enrichment book based science tecnology society students with theme of biogas as a renewable alternative energy source (2) obtaining the quality of science book (3) obtaining the response from students to the science enrichment book. This research belong of Research and Development (R&D). Development is done by referring to the procedural model. This development research procedure is based on 4-D model which includes 4 steps, namely (1) Development (2) Design (3) Develop (4) Desseminate. This research is done until Development step in Development testing. The research instrumen are criticism and validator suggestion sheet, student response sheet. The quality of science enrichment book used 4 likert scale and students response used Guttman scale, both are in checklist forms. The result of this research is science enrichment book based science technology society for junior high school students with the theme of biogas as a renewable alternative energy source. The quality of science enrichment book based on assesment of science specialist, graphic specialist, and teacher has a very good score, with average score 3,78; 3,64; and 3,92. Student responses on small field test and large field test obtain a classification agree with average score 0,93 and 0,95.
