Abstract
This research aims to determine the relationship between online game addiction in terms of permissive parenting and loneliness among students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. The research method used is using quantitative method with using 3 scale: game online addiction scale, permissive parenting scale, and UCLA loneliness Scale Version 3. This research also using the tryout method with a number of subjects namely 30 students and using purposive sampling technique. This research used multiple regression analysis which showed the following results: 1) there was a positive relationship between permissive parenting and loneliness on online game addiction with a significance value of 0.021 (p <0.05) and had a contribution rate of 32.8% for online game addiction. on line. 2) there is a positive relationship between permissive parenting and online game addiction with a significance value of 0.034 (p <0.05) and a contribution rate of 15.1% to online game addiction. 3) there is a positive relationship between loneliness and online game addiction, with a significance value of 0.023 (p <0.05) and a contribution rate of 17.1% towards online game addiction. Based on the research’s result, the hypothesis is accepted.
