Abstract

Problems in the world of education are very diverse, one of the factors is curriculum. Need for new Innovation for the education system through reorientation of education such as extracurricular curriculum. Marching Band Gema Persada Mansageka extracurricular intended to develop one of the interest non-academic and being one of the most important thing to improve school quality. Marching Band Gema Persada Mansageka has a goal to develop personalities and character building of students. In other hand, Marching Band Gema Persada Mansageka as an icon or brand to raise the image of madrasah, specially in non-academic areas. This research is descriptive qualitative, trying to describe the results of the research as it is. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The data is forming to words or text and write down to description or narration. The subjects in this study are the Principal, BK Teachers who were recruited as accompanying teachers (Team Managers) in the extracurricular of Marching Band, Marching Band senior trainers, and students who participated in the extracurricular of Marching Band. While the object in this study is the management of extracurricular Gema Persada Mansageka as a new innovation to improve the school quality. The results showed that management of extracurricular Gema Persada Mansageka as a new innovation in improving the quality of school was carried out with: (1) Planning starts from recruitment team manager, recruiting trainers, planning tools, recruiting students, setting training schedules, and financing the Marching Bandt; on the mobilization task there is a letter assignment from the School Principal and to control there is an evaluation of activities and equipment (2) Activity program the extracurricular of Marching Band Gema Persada Mansageka, such as competition program, achievement program, and promotion program called the Concert Tour which is inseparable from the principles of existing extracurricular activities (3) Supporting factors for extracurricular of Gema Persada Mansageka activities are superior extracurricular, suport from school, student commitment and the role of alumni while the inhibiting factors are student discipline, natural selection, training schedule of Marching Band equipment and competition funds.
