Abstract

The importance of textbooks as teaching materials to be systematically designed and attractive. The attractive interest in using textbooks does not escape from aesthetic elements. Observing the quality of thematic textbooks, it is necessary to know the views or perceptions of the class teacher. The task of the teacher as the front guard in applying thematic textbooks deeply understands the needs of students. The following research objectives: 1) Knowing the teacher's perceptions of the feasibility of the 2018 revised edition of thematic textbooks for class I 2) Knowing the teachers' perceptions of the aesthetics of the 2018 revised edition of thematic textbooks. This research is field research which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods so that the data obtained is more comprehensive and objective. The subjects of this study were four first-grade teachers of MIN 1 Bantul, and the object of this study was the 2019 revised thematic textbook. The results of the following research: First, the teacher's perception at MIN 1 Bantul on the feasibility of thematic textbooks is that in general, they have met the feasibility of the textbook, namely the feasibility of content, language eligibility, and feasibility of graphics. Second, the aesthetic element in the thematic textbook shows the percentage of aesthetic material in class 1 thematic textbook in the form element of the total feasibility score from the data of class 1 teachers of MIN 1 Bantul with a total score of 90% of the research results, the total score is included in the Very Appropriate category. . In the material element the total score is 89.52%, the total score is included in the Very Appropriate category. In the presentation element, the total score is 87.27%. The total score is included in the Very Appropriate category.
